“Punishment! People need punishment! More punishment – especially for drug users!” Unfortunately punishment is what causes half of the problems. This guy sends mixed messages however because he is correct in saying that it is a disease which requires treatment.
We need to find ways to avoid drugs which have disproportionately disastrous health effects like meth without stigmatizing everything else (marijuana, alcohol etc.) which have their own, but still independent issues.
They also would understand the point that inflicting violence on the non-violent is the height of evil action- also- buddhists don’t believe that their ascetism is universal, but only for a select few- so buddhists do take drugs, have sex and lead imperfect lives like the rest of us. You’ve got a lot of nerve calling somebody naieve when you show such ignorance- there is no justification for lives destroyed in the war on drugs.

I agree, although I would not hesitate to put alcohol in the same category as meth in terms if disproportionately disastrous effects on families and on society overall.

I suppose that argument could be made for nearly any dependence causing drug with euphoria as an effect.
I think a critical difference is that drinking alcohol doesn’t necessarily imply that you are an alcoholic. Probably far from it, even though alcoholism itself can be just as bad as anything else.
Drugs like meth that only exist because of their ability to illicit an uncontrollable urge for more at any cost are in a whole different league.
Cigarettes would be a good analogy I think.

My drugs are made in my own head and they are called endorphins and they are way better than any street drug. Yes they are more addictive than street drugs.
How do you cause your body to release these endorphins? It is easy, just eat lots of
hot chilli the hotter the better. I grow my own it cuts out the chilli dealers.

But still, if its not easily available where you are, and its one occasion, i can’t see the harm it could do.
Yes, for some people, 1 time is enough, but there’s still users out there that have enough willpower and arn’t addicted..

Ok, thats fair enough. But there are still user’s out there who are not addicts, so it must come in to play somewhere.
I’m not saying the drug is a good thing at all, and yes it is majorly addictive i’m sure of that. But i’d still rather find out from my own experiance and take a risk rather than go off what other people say.
Thats what all of life is about.
TO ALL SEEKING HELP WITH ADDICTION: You need to look into treatment with a drug called Ibogaine. Ibogaine is an addiction interruptor, not a maintenance drug like methadone or suboxone.
